Have you ever sat down and contemplated
the things that give you pleasure in your life?
A friend’s status update for ten consecutive days on FB about “Joys of
Life” along with a picture of it that made her joyful was an interesting thing
I came across a few days back.
A couple of days later, a casual
chat over FB with a cousin of mine who mentioned that I should write about
“Joys of Life” pushed me to pen it down.
Going for a movie, a dinner or on
a vacation will certainly give you joy.
I am sure you all agree with me.
There are so many other things too that gives you joy. Ever thought about it?
Little things in life give you
joy. Sitting in the balcony of your
house, watching a bird resting on a tree gives you joy. Making a cup of tea for your hubby gives you
joy. Seeing a colorful butterfly while
on a stroll gives you joy. Flowers in
full bloom in the garden make you happy.
A rainbow in the sky that pushes you to capture it in your camera, gives
you joy. You would want to admire nature
seeing all these things as often as you can.
There are many moments of your
life that make you cheerful and contented.
When your child wins a trophy, you feel a winner yourself. It does make you happy and proud. Isn’t it?
Little things for example, I remember seeing my little one when he was
just few months old, in the pram, playful, full of zest to get up and walk made
me happy. The first stage performance of
my daughter made me joyful. A good night
kiss by my little ones makes me complete and contented. The tiny hands of my babies that make a
colorful greeting card for mother’s day or my birthday gives me immense
pleasure. Their report card score makes
me happy. A hug for no reason and a
compliment from them for no reason again that “Mom, you are the best and we
love you” makes me feel that my life is worth living. When they laugh hysterically, it gives me a
reason to smile.
A compliment from your husband
while you are working in the kitchen, that “You looking beautiful” gives you
happiness. Holding each other hands
gives you joy. If you are unwell and are
looked after, it gives you joy.
Taking my mom and mom in law out
for shopping gives me happiness. A
family grand get together gives me joy.
An appreciation of the food cooked for all at the get together gives me
joy.
A baby waving from the other car
when your car is at a halt at the red light makes me smile. Praying and donating things for charity lifts
my spirits.
So, basically, there are
innumerable things that pleases you and writing it on a piece of paper is not
possible. I cannot write all of them
here but little what I could think of, I have shared it with you. I am sure; you would now reminisce the
precious moments of your life too. Go
ahead, reminisce all that you can and feel blissful.
